About Dawn Craig

RMT, MCHP(UK), Manager

Dawn is a dedicated professional known for putting her clients first. She always ensures her team are motivated and well developed to provide the best treatments and customer service to our patients. She has resided in Surrey since 1989, and has been a member in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia as well as the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC since becoming a Registered Massage Therapist in 2008. Dawn is also a member of the Complementary Health Professionals Association (UK).

Dawn’s mission is to help you get into the best state of wellness of your life. She believes that anyone can feel healthier and stay well with a well-rounded healthcare program tailored specifically to you. Her goal is to see significant results in your increased well being. With her extensive knowledge of soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions, she is able to apply the correct techniques in order to attain the improved physiologic response she expects, as well as refer out to other healthcare colleagues as required.
Dawn’s leisure activity background is in competitive horseback riding, track and field events, endurance running, cycling, mixed martial arts and weight training ‘for fun’. At present, on top of the 3000 hour RMT program already behind her, she is finishing the last few courses required to achieve her Bachelor of Health Science Degree.

Dawn has raised three sons, worked as a banker for seven years, and for the Provincial Government for 9 years before becoming a Registered Massage Therapist and opening two clinics.

Dawn’s education and background gives her great understanding of imbalances and injuries, as well as the body and mind’s incredible capabilities to heal.

About Ashley Blais

RMT

Ashley graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2016, with a desire to help others recover from their injuries and phsycial discomfort.

Based on an individuals needs, and working within their pain tolerance, mild to deep pressure will be applied throughout the massage using a variety of techniques such as myofascial and trigger point release, swedish massage, joint mobilizations and muscle energy techniques. If you are someone who is looking for a very Deep pressure I can easily accommodate.

Ashley looks forward to bringing the experience she has gained working for a clinic in Maple Ridge for the past 3 years to dawn Health and Wellness, as well as continuing to further her knowledge and education to provide the best treatment possible.

About Danielle Segal

RMT

We are very excited to welcome Danielle back to our group, beginning January, 2020 in our White Rock clinic!

Danielle was inspired at a young age to study massage therapy and healing work, and has a particular affinity for treating chronic headaches, whiplash injuries and temporal mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunctions. She is a graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s Registered Massage Therapy program, an active member of the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of BC and the College of Massage Therapists of BC. She was a competitive gymnast growing up and had many injuries, for which she saw many therapists for rehabilitation and treatment. Danielle taught recreational gymnastics before going back to school to be a Registered Massage Therapist. Her style of therapy is deep and effective. She will work within a patient’s comfort tolerance to develop a treatment plan that will treat the affected area, decrease pain and encourage regeneration of the tissues involved. She believes in the old saying ‘use it or lose it!’ and encourages all her patients to do some type of gentle exercise to maintain their health. She has practiced Bikram yoga for many years and also enjoys bicycling and paddle boarding when she can get a chance.

About Dr. Gina Neonakis

Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Gina Neonakis is a licensed and board certified naturopathic doctor in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of Canada (CNPBC). She is a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), is certified in acupuncture and has prescriptive authority in British Columbia.

Gina has a clinical focus in Fertility and Women’s Health. She has a passion for supporting women of all ages and has experience with conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, hormonal imbalances and menopause.

Gina completed 4 years of education at Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. During her clinical internship she was selected to be an intern on the Fertility and Reproductive Health focus shift where she supported patients trying to conceive and undergoing assisted reproductive technology. Prior to this she obtained an Advanced Major in Biology at Saint Francis Xavier University in her home province of Nova Scotia.

Gina aims to treat the underlying cause of conditions rather than suppressing them.

She uses an evidence based medicine approach that is focused on the best available research as well as clinical experience, and utilizes lab testing where required to confirm diagnoses.

Individualized treatment plans may use modalities such as botanical medicine, acupuncture, nutritional counselling and supplements. Gina believes that health is not just the absence of disease, but is a continuous journey that is specific to individual goals and concerns. She values the “doctor as teacher” mentality where education plays a key role in a patient’s success towards reaching optimal health.

About Dr. Jasmine Ma

TCM & Acupuncturist

Jasmine Li Ma is a Registered Dr. of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturist, who graduated from PCU College of Holistic Medicine in Burnaby. She is licensed with College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia and is a member of British Columbia Association of TCM and Acupuncture Practitioners.

Strongly believing in vital Qi of human body, Jasmine dedicates into arousing the self-healing power of the patient so that the evil Qi (sickness) can be guided to find its way out, instead of simply eliminating the symptoms directly with little care of the balance between gain and loss during treatment. Showing great concern for the long-term well-being, Jasmine strives to listen deeply to the needs of every patient and provides a sense of trust and compassion. She offers acupuncture, Tuina manual therapy (Chinese Massage), moxibustion, cupping, scraping, traditional Chinese herbal medicine to help people with various pains and other internal diseases such as mental conditions, digestive and respiratory system disorders, women’s health, etc. She often gives customized advice on diet, exercise and lifestyle.

Jasmine is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher and practises Tai Chi and other traditional health preservation exercises. She also integrates aromatherapy in her daily life, as well as treatment, based on her TCM understanding on the character of different plants. In her spare time, you can find her making handmade soap and lip balm. She enjoys spending her time with her plants in her backyard. Reverence for the Mother Nature is Jasmine’s lifetime conviction and living a greener and simpler life is what she always keeps pursuing.

About Mia Yuan

Registered Dietitian

Mia graduated from McGill University. She is a member of College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC) and Dietitians of Canada. She also completed Breastfeeding Course for Health Care Providers (LEARRC approved breastfeeding course) by Douglas College.

Mia was struggling with her body image throughout adolescence. Trying out different fad diet, yoyo dieting, fasting for days… she experienced them all, just like many people who struggles themselves with body image and weight. Her experience inspired her to study nutrition and finally become a dietitian. In her first two years of university, she lost more than 30 ibs and maintained it by applying what she learnt from school and incorporating the most recent research. By now, Mia has helped hundreds of people achieve their weight goals.

Having been working as a clinical dietitian in hospitals, outpatient units, rehabilitation hospitals, clinics and community care, she has extensive experience in weight management, chronic disease prevention and management, sport nutrition, gut health and etc. She is also working as a community dietary for pre and post natal nutrition program which run group nutrition workshops and individual nutrition consultations. She can help you with everything you need from pre-conception, pregnancy, post partum to infant nutrition.

She believes that if you cannot follow a diet plan for life, that’s not the right one for you! It’s all about lifestyle changes. We all are craving for delicious cookies, chocolates, fries, burgers, chips once a while. Nothing needs to be avoided completely, but it is all about having it in moderation and maintaining a positive lifestyle in general. Enjoying delicious foods and having healthy food choices are not contradictory at all!

About Melanie Gunther

Student Therapist

With almost 20 years experience in the natural health industry, Melanie is passionate about practicing and teaching holistic healthcare. From being a founding member of an award-winning, organic supplement line, Living Alchemy, as well as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, she hopes to inspire others to reach their optimal wellness through natural modalities. She believes massage therapy is a powerful part of nourishing yourself both mentally and physically, paving the way to living your best life. 

As a senior student in West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s RMT program, as well as finishing the last few courses of a BSc. (Biology), Melanie is committed to her patient’s health and wellbeing and endeavours to achieve her and her patient’s goals. By using various hands on techniques, she helps to restore whole body balance, release tension and calm nerves, so you’ll leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Residing in South Surrey with her husband, two rambunctious Boston Terriers and a cuddly kitten, you’ll find Melanie on the local beach, at a picnic in the park or her nose stuck in a natural medicine textbook.  

About Susie Santos

Medical Aesthetician

Susie is a graduate of Blanche MacDonald and has over 17 years of experience. She has worked in a large variety of places from luxury day spas to a medical practice working with and assisting medical injectors. Throughout her career, Susie continues her education and has received her Laser Technician Certification along with a Certification in Reflexology, making her well versed in the health and wellness of skin and body. With her knowledge and practical skills, Susie’s approach to skin is not only looking at the surface but treating from within.  She can help maintain or get you on the right treatment plan using medical grade skincare and tools. Focusing on advanced ideologies and technology, while pairing self-care with a comfortable and calm experience, she has created a unique facial treatment for all skin types. Cathy is a graduate from West Coast College of Massage Therapy, dedicated in providing safe and effective health care to all her clients and to educate them on how to maintain and overcome injury and return to their activities of daily living.

Cathy has experience working with athletes as she was a certified professional fitness trainer for many years. she is confident in treating chronic conditions, neck and shoulder tension, generalized muscle tension, stress, anxiety, low back pain, postural dysfunction, tension headaches, acute injuries and overall relaxation.

During her time off, Cathy enjoys outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, paddle boarding, gardening, reading, watching movies and documentaries. she also has a great passion for cooking and baking and creating her own healthy culinary delights.
